AlpenFolk
presents the music and folklore of the alps!
With
authentic instruments, singing and yodeling, here is alpine music
the way it was meant to be played - the way it is played today in
the rustic inns and the mountain chalets of Bavaria, the Tyrol,
Styria, and throughout the alps!
Button
accordion, hammered dulcimer, zither, bass and guitar combine to
give AlpenFolk its unmistakable, irresistible alpine sound.

Enzian
Schuhplattler is a
not-for-profit folk dance organization dedicated to promoting
Bavarian folk dancing and costumes. Enzian performs regional
dances from Bavaria (Germany) and Tirol (Austria), including
traditional Schuhplattler and folk dances.
"Schuhplattler" is a
centuries-old Bavarian dance genre in which the men demonstrate
their vigor in a raucous but precise "shoe-slapping"
rhythm to folk music, alternating with flirtatious figures danced
with the women. This dance form has evolved over the last 300
years.

Marlin Handbell Ringers
A group of Leavenworth
residents bring handbell music to the Bavarian Village with the
Marlin Handbell Ringers. The group has two recordings &
performs several times each year for local audiences.

Mountain Jumpers - Jump Rope Troup who has accomplished: World
Championship
10
years of experience - The jump rope team consists of about 20 boys
and girls from the Leavenworth area. It was started in 1993
and has grown to be one of the top Nationally competitive teams in
the country. They
have performed for 1/2 time at U.W Basketball games, have been on
ESPN TV for the past 8 years, they perform at Autumn Leaf
Festivals, Apple Blossom Festivals, and at schools throughout
Washington.
