Snowcat Adventures in Leavenworth
January
thru March - weather dependent
It's
early morning, the sun is just about up. Your listening to the hum of the
engine, people are talking and in the background there's music
playing. As the Snowcat arrives at the summit your guide lets
everyone know to grab their gear and get ready for their first run.
You walk out of the back of the Snowcat-cabin into thigh deep powder, you smile. Looking around you can see the Cascade Mountains in
every direction, the view is awesome. You get your gear, click in and
glide to the edge, look down and smile. Your guide smiles back, nods and
drops over the edge, you take one more look around, give a small push and
drop over. Building speed as you make your first turn carving a huge
arc, the powder is flying all around you. The adrenaline is starting to
pump and your feeling the rush. Then you realize this is only the start of
an epic day with Leavenworth's
Cascade
Powder Cats Snowcat Skiing!
*Average
10,000 vertical feet per day
*Wide open cruising, steep and deep, trees, glades and big hits
*Comfortable 10 passenger Snowcat
*For strong intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders
*Come have a great time in the backcountry for a day or a week

Ski Jumping
Ski jumping is up and running on the "D" hill, behind the lodge
at the Leavenworth Ski Hill this winter. Kjell Bakke and his volunteers
are out every Wednesday and Friday night from 6-8:30pm and every Saturday
and Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Skiers of all ages are encouraged to
come out and give jumping a try. You need not have special gear, just your
alpine or telemark skis and boots, plus a helmet. Coaches are on hand to
instruct.
Downhill

historic Ski Hill Lodge. Alpine daily passes cost $8.00 for skiers age 6
to 64; seniors ski for free and children age five and under ski free on
the Bunny Hill. Alpine memberships includes a season pass at the Ski Hill,
Skier News and voting rights. Combined memberships include season passes
