Leavenworth’s Annual Bavarian style Christmas market for the whole family offering craft and food vendor booths, continuous entertainment, and lantern decorating for children. Welcoming ceremony and lantern parade Friday and Saturday evenings. Children's activities also at the Grange Hall. Sponsored by Projekt Bayern.

Continuous, free live entertainment throughout Christkindlmarkt
on Friday and Saturday will play at the Gazebo featuring a variety of holiday and traditional Bavarian music for your enjoyment. Local talent plays accordions and button boxes as well as other entertainers including favorite local choral and band groups.
Activities
Lantern Workshop TIME: Friday 12 Noon to 4 p.m.
TIME: Saturday 12 Noon to 4 p.m.
PLACE: Front Street City Park
The Lantern Workshop is a favorite with children each year.
Each child can decorate their own lantern after which they
will receive a heart-shaped gingerbread cookie. A limited
number of decorated lanterns will be available to children
between 4 and 4:30 p.m.
There will be a charge of $5.00 for each undecorated lantern
or $6.00 for each pre-decorated lantern sold after 4 p.m.
Children's Crafts TIME: Friday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
TIME: Saturday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
PLACE: Held in the Grange Hall
Children will have the opportunity again this year to make
other crafts while they warm up, get a snack, play games and
watch a movie in the Grange Hall located at the west end of
Front Street.
Lantern Parade TIME: Friday and Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
PLACE: Starting at the corner of 8th and Commercial Street
Carrying their hand-crafted, glowing lanterns, the children and their
parents will follow St. Nicholas and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus through
the streets to the Gazebo where the Christkind will welcome everyone.

In traditional fashion the Christkind will welcome all to the Market and
share wishes for the Christmas holiday season. The dream of most girls
in Germany is to be the "Christkind" or "Golden Angel" which is the
symbol of Christmas in German-speaking countries. She will be joined by
City dignitaries, St. Nicholas, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
Leavenworth's own Enzian Alphorns, and the Boellerschutzen. A variety of
holiday music will be enjoyed by all.
Shopping
Start your holiday shopping early. Christkindlmarkt will feature a
unique variety of handcrafted and other specialty items for a loved one,
a friend or yourself. There will be wood-crafted items from Germany, as
well as home decor and art. You will find knit, crocheted and fleece
apparel and accessories for all ages. You will be delighted with your
unique purchases.
Satisfy your taste buds with a sampling of bakery delicacies, candy,
warm roasted nuts, Bavarian sausages and beverages. While you are
shopping take advantage of the magic of Christmas in our Bavarian
Village.
