Bill Monigold, Executive Chef and Restaurant Manager at J J Hills Fresh Grill
and the Icicle Village Resort, comes from a long background of serving customers and specializes in meeting guests needs in the restaurant and catering functions.
Bill
was born in Germany, then grew up and lived in Alaska until 1980. While in
Alaska he went to Tanana Valley Community College on the campus of the
University of Alaska. There he studied in the Fairbanks Culinary arts
program under Richard Donnelly who was trained in France and in Switzerland.
In the early 80’s Bill worked in Southern California
in the Orange County area and worked and learned a great deal about seafood
preparation. He came to Leavenworth in 1982, this is where he meet his
wife and raised their children and has lived here since that time.
Bill has also worked for Walter Wilmonth who developed
Johnny’s seasoning salt, and has spent 10 years at the Leavenworth Golf Club as
Chef and Restaurant manager.
Bill joined the Icicle Village Resort in March of 2011. His specialties include
French Pepper Steak with Cognac Sauce, Schnitzel ala Swiss, and Grill Northwest
Salmon basted with Herb Butter along with others that are included in our new
Fresh Grill menu.
